Summaries of the experience of our directors and executive officers of the Fund are set forth below:
DAVID K. BERNARD has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors since inception and also serves as the General Superintendent of UPCI. Dr. Bernard also serves on our Executive Committee and Loan Committee. Prior to becoming UPCI’s General Superintendent, Dr. Bernard served as the Pastor of New Life United Pentecostal Church in Austin, Texas from 1992 until 2011. Dr. Bernard has also served as President of Urshan Graduate School of Theology, a UPCI affiliated divinity school, since 2000, as a founding District Superintendent of the South Texas district of UPCI and as Associate Editor for UPCI. Dr. Bernard holds a B. A. from Rice University, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas, a Masters in Theology from the University of South Africa and expects to receive his Doctorate in Theology from the University of South Africa in 2012.
JERRY JONES has served as the general secretary of the United Pentecostal Church International since 1999. He began his ministry while a student at Louisiana State University and has pastored, evangelized, and is an international speaker. He has served the UPCI in many capacities, holding sectional, district and national offices, including serving as an executive presbyter, general youth secretary and president. He presently serves on several boards and is an avid historian and researcher. He has authored several books, is a writer for various publications and has taught at Gateway College of Evangelism. He and his wife, Phyllis, live in the St. Louis area. They have one son and one grandson.
STEPHEN M. DRURY has served as a director and our President since inception. Since 2006, Mr. Drury has served as President of the Foundation and has served as Director of Stewardship for UPCI since 2002. Mr. Drury has also served as Chairman for the Church Aflame Institute, and as Director for Institutional Advancement at Urshan Graduate School of Theology, in each instance, a UPCI affiliated organization. Mr. Drury also serves on our Executive Committee, Loan Committee and Loan Delinquency Committee. Mr. Drury received a Bachelor of Theology degree from Apostolic Bible Institute.
DAVID D. TIPTON, JR. was elected in April 2009 as the Mississippi District Superintendent for the United Pentecostal Church International. Previously, he served as Executive Director of Promotions for the General Home Missions Division at World Evangelism Center in St. Louis, Missouri for two years. Prior to accepting the position as Promotions Director in 2007, he served in various ministerial capacities. For ten years Reverend Tipton was the Director of the Home Missions Division of the Mississippi District and pastor of The Pentecostals of Grenada, Mississippi. His first pastorate was of the First Pentecostal Church in Georgetown, Louisiana. During his time in Louisiana he served as Assistant Pastor of the First Pentecostal Church of Leesville, Louisiana and served as Section six youth director. Currently serves as Superintendent of the Mississippi District UPCI, Executive Board Member of the Tupelo Children’s Mansion, Chairman of Onward Ministries, and Pastoral Advisor to the Building The Bridge Ministries, and owner of CBA Trucking, LLC. Reverend Tipton was born in Port St. Joe, Florida. He and his wife, Gwen, have two sons-Devonn and Damon, two foster children, Rachael and Matthew, six grandchildren and three foster grandchildren.
AMANDA FLEMMING graduated with a B.S. in Accounting with Honors from The Ohio State University in 1999. She obtained her CPA license in 2000 in the State of Minnesota and maintained active status until January of 2003. Her experience includes an Audit Senior for Deloitte & Touche, LLP from 2000 - 2002 as well as two volunteer treasurer positions for non-profit organizations. In 2002, her husband, Dan Flemming, became the pastor of New Life Church in Ames, Iowa at which time she also became a mother. Amanda also fills the role as a district superintendent’s wife in the state of Iowa.
ARNOLD MACLAUCHLAN is currently the District Superintendent of the Ontario District of the UPCI. He led the Pentecostals of Quinte in Belleville, Ontario for 31 years and he continues to serve as the congregation's Executive Pastor. He has also fulfilled the role of Evangelist, Bible College Teacher, and Seminar Instructor in Canada and abroad.
MARIE GRAHAM has a Juris Doctor ("JD") from Hofstra University School of Law in Hempstead, NY (June 2009) and a BBA in Accounting from CUNY-Bernard M. Baruch College in New York, NY (June 1993). She is a member of the New York City and New York State Bar Association, and an active New York Certified Public Accountant. Sister Graham has professional work experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers and government agencies. She is an excellent communicator with professional presence, strong work ethic and strategic legal skills cultivated through numerous multimillion assignments. Sister Graham currently serves along with her husband, Senior Pastor Lincoln A. Graham Jr., at Oneness Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Albans, NY. She is the mother of two children.
DAVID K. CARUTHERS currently serves along with his wife, Gena, as pastor of Calvary Church of San Antonio, Texas. Pastor Caruthers graduated from Texas Bible College in 1984 and has previously served as Pastor of three other churches as well as various other ministry roles. He is a Certified Public Accountant (Texas) and holds both Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Professional Accounting from The University of Texas, Austin. He previously served as CFO of Jobs for Progress Workforce Development and Senior Staff Accountant at Texas Association of Counties and currently offers clients accounting and tax services. David specializes in consulting services for non-profit organizations, churches, and ministers. He also performs audits, tax advising and tax document preparation for individuals and businesses.
DELANO SHERLEY is Owner and President of Delano Sherley & Associates, Inc. Mr. Sherley has over twenty-five years of diverse Accounting experience, including the non-profit, engineering, manufacturing and construction industries. He has served as Controller and CFO for numerous closely held businesses. In 2002, Delano started what is now Delano Sherley and Associates, Inc. His areas of expertise include non-profits, business plans, financial reporting, financial forecasting, bank financing, cash flow management, and accounting systems development. Mr. Sherley has volunteered and served on several non-profit organizational boards and is currently serving as the financial consultant for Compassion Services International. In addition to his consulting services, Delano maintains a schedule of speaking engagements throughout the U.S. He has spoken at state and national conferences on the topics of personal finance, church financial management, accounting, ministerial taxes and stewardship. Mr. Sherley holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati.
KEVIN PRINCE received his ministerial license with the UPCI in 1983 and has since filled many ministerial roles. He served as an assistant pastor in Aransas Pass, Texas, and on the staff of his alma mater as Administrative Assistant to the President and as Development Director. Later he served as a pastor in Longview and Tyler, Texas. While pastoring in Section 5, he was asked to serve as Section North American Missions Director, Section Secretary, and then Section Presbyter. In 2002 he was elected as the Texas District Secretary and served until 2008 when he assumed the pastorate of the First Apostolic Church of Tyler. During the 90s, while pastoring, he founded Mobile Masters, Inc., which became a leading provider of aftermarket services to the manufactured housing industry in East Texas and Northwest Louisiana. In 2013, Rev. Prince was elected as the Texas District Superintendent. He has served and is presently serving on a number of boards within the United Pentecostal Church International.
DAVID MYERS graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctorate degree from Barry University School of Law in 2000. In 1997, Pastor Myers studied at Oxford University in Oxford, England. In 1998, he studied at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland under U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, and in 1999, at McGill College in Montreal, Canada under U. S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist. He and his wife Aimee are blessed with identical twin sons Gregory David and Luke Ellis along with a beautiful girl, Sophia Aimee. He serves as Senior Pastor at the First Pentecostal Church of Palm Bay, Florida.
DEVON DAWSON has had the distinct honor of serving on the UPCI New York Metro District Board as Presbyter for Section 2 from 2003 to 2005 and Section 3, from 2006 to 2011. In 2011 he was installed as the NYMD Superintendent. He is married to his best friend Joy, whom he says is a gift from God. They have three daughters – Kesha (married to Gary); Shondell (married to Sean); Devany, and four grandchildren – Sean, Lauren, Kyemi Rae and Gabrel. He is Bishop at All Nations Apostolic Tabernacle in Jamaica, NY.
